While Ali Krieger has fallen out of favor after her impressive performance at the Olympics, Morgan Brian has had a difficult couple of years. Last player to hear she made the squad was Morgan Brian, who was out of injury for two years. The goalkeeper is one question mark. Ellis has used three different goalkeepers thus far in the year. We'll find out soon enough. The identity of the other four players is still a mystery.

Tierna Davidson

TiernaDavidson, the youngest player on USWNT World Cup roster is an excellent pick for this summer’s tournament. The Chicago Red Stars first-round draft pick is a center back with a playmaker's mentality. Davidson was drafted by Chicago Red Stars in 2017. He won the 2017 national championship with Stanford. Davidson now has full training, having played 90 minutes for USWNT in 2018.

The U.S. WNT's defense managed to hold its opponents to three goals in five games in 2015. Krieger participated in five consecutive shutouts during the World Cup. This included the second round of the group stage and the semifinal match. 2011 saw Krieger score two game-winning penalty shots against Brazil and help the U.S. WNT get to the final against Japan. Carli Lloyd

It's not surprising that Carli Lloyd is on USWNT's world cup roster. The American soccer icon is the 39-yearold. She is currently the highest scoring American player and is the oldest player on the roster. She has helped the USWNT reach the finals of three consecutive World Cups with her goals and assists, including the 2015 tournament in France. Her career is far from finished.

Tierna Mewis

Mewis, who won her first U.S. women’s team cap in 2014 has made 47 appearances for Team USA. She has scored nine goals, and has also served as an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. Mewis has a lot of talent, even though she's still young. Mewis is an excellent choice for the USWNT as a midfielder. Her experience and skills will prove invaluable as the team prepares to compete in the World Cup.

Casey Short

Although it's not a glamorous job, Casey Short still plays a vital role on the USWNT team. She's made more than any professional women's soccer player and her contributions to the team have been crucial. As fellow player Christen Press put it, "I'm very proud of Casey."
