Its players' organization

The Players Association was a New York-based studio group. Chris Hills was previously a member of The Grateful Dead's fusion group. Their debut album on Vanguard Records in 1977 was a cult classic. The band's sound was both raw yet sophisticated. Their songs were inspired by the complexity and beauty of everyday human life. Although their songs were highly influential, there was controversy over their style.

Players Association was a part of the Ultimate Breakaway Weekend, which was held in support for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Olympic athletes Lance Armstrong and United States Women's National Team were there. Sheryl Crow and Anthony LaPaglia joined them for an exhibition with youth soccer players in the area at the University of Nevada. In support of the athletes, the Players Association also hosted a benefit concert for both the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (ASC) and the American Cancer Society.
