Dana White created the Contender Series to help the younger fighters on regional circuits. This season's main event will be the Lightweight title fight, with the Middleweights and Welterweights co-main events. Although the Ultimate Job Interview was cancelled by injuries to the main competitors, it is still a great chance to see if you could be the next big thing in UFC.
Dana White's sixth season of the Contender Series
The sixth season Dana White’s Contender Series' premiere date has been set for Tuesday, 27 July at 8 pm ET. The program will air on ESPN+ live and air one episode per semaine. The show scouts up-and-coming fighters and provides them with an opportunity to earn contracts with the UFC. Ten episodes are planned for the sixth season.

The main event will be dominated by lightweights
Two promising prospects will be fighting for the title shot at the lightweight division. In the main event, former UFC fighters Ty Flores will face Rafael Alves. Both have a winning streak of four fights. Rafael Alves, a former Titan FC interim champion lightweight fighter, trains at the MMA Masters of South Florida. Miguel Baeza, his fellow fighter, has seen him rise to stardom.
The co-main show will feature middleweights
The UFC 276 main event will feature two of best fighters from the division. No. Jack Hermansson is 6th in the rankings and No. Sean Strickland is 7th ranked. Both fighters hope to face reigning division champion Israel Adesanya. Hermansson has nine wins since 2016, winning six of his last eight fights. Strickland is currently on a five-fight winning streak. He hopes to continue that streak.
Welterweights are the co-main event
The comain event in the contender series features a bout between two former heavyweight champions. Bruno Assis of Brazil will be facing Diaz. Assis defeated a high-rated opponent in March. Two exciting bantamweight bouts will be featured on the card. Mayra Pueno Silva will face Wu Yanan, while Carlos Aldo faces a highly-rated prospect in the middleweight division.

The co-main events will feature lightweights
The lightweight division is back for the second time in as many years, with one of the top prospects in the UFC facing a lightweight. Brendan Battles (28-0 KOs, 2 knockouts) will face Fred Grey of Atlanta in the comain event. The lightweight division's champion fight will be contested next year by the winner.
