The Diamond Resorts TOC event is a kick-off to the LPGA Season. In the past, the tournament has been won by baseball Hall of Fame pitcher John Smoltz. This event attracts regulars from celebrity golf. Last year, 10 major champions competed. The tournament also features a Celebrity Division as well as a Schedule of Events.
Celebrity division
The Celebrity Division of the Diamond Resorts Tournament features 53 celebrities competing for a $500,000 purse. Annika Sorenstam (a four-time major champion), John Smoltz (a former Atlanta Braves pitcher) and Cole Swindell (a country singer/actor) are among the field. Sorenstam, who was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, made her first public comments during the week.

Annika Sorenstam, an Australian tennis player, is also a celebrity at the LPGA Tour. She has played in some tournaments, partnering with her father in the PNC Championship, but she has never played against a current LPGA Tour player. She will be playing in Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions' Celebrity Division. Here, each celebrity will use their own ball and play in modified Stableford. The LPGA pros will pair them with the celebrities in a 72 hole stroke play event.
