The SheBelieves Cup, a four-team round robin tournament based in the United States, is the latest initiative to promote the #SheBelieves campaign, a grassroots movement by US Soccer to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams. The campaign gained wide attention and expanded its reach since its launch in the lead-up to 2015 Women's World Cup. It has also created a unique bond between the team and its fans and a powerful message of empowerment.
Visa sponsors the tournament and will award the tournament MVP after each match. A committee made up of ex-Women's National Team players votes on the MVP.
It's a four-team tournament

It is held on the West Coast
This year, The SheBelieves Cup takes place in two cities. In Orlando, Florida, the tournament was held for the first time in 2014. The tournament will be held this year in Los Angeles and San Diego. It will be held in strict COVID protocol and serve as the beginning of the U.S.'s qualifying season for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The Concacaf W Championship for eight teams will take place between July 9 and July 24, where the winners will receive four qualification spots for the World Cup, and one automatic spot to the next Olympic Games.
Young women can use this competition to gain entry into the national squad. The USWNT will be up against New Zealand, Iceland, and Czech Republic, three nations that are ranked in the top 24 in the world. The tournament has a long history of attracting top teams like Argentina and Germany. The USWNT was unsuccessful in luring Canada's Olympic champion to the USA in the past. Overall, however, the tournament has a mixed record.
