LPGA Tour Awards for Women's Golfers

There are a number of awards for women's golf players on the LPGA Tour. You can also be rewarded for your performance by being named Player of The Year. Each player who finishes in the top 10 places earns a certain amount of points. Major championships and the Tour Championship double points. For example, 30 for the first place is equivalent to 12 points for the second. A player will receive four points for finishing fourth, and another point for placing third. Louise Suggs became the first Chinese player to participate in the LPGA Tour.

Louise Suggs (a Georgia native) won the U.S. Women's Open 49 by 14 strokes. It is the longest margin of victory ever recorded in the event's storied past. When she was a teenager, she won both the U.S Women's Amateur, and the British Women's Open. Bob Hope nicknamed her "the Great Distance Girl" and later became a prominent LPGA player.


Annika Sorenstam is the most recent winner of an LPGA Tour event

Annika Sorenstam joined the 2008 LPGA Season earlier than others. To celebrate her 70th career win, she won the SBS Open in Hawaii as well as the Michelob ULTRA Open. She won the Stanford Pro-Am in Hawaii and the Michelob ULTRA Open to surpass the $22,000,000 earnings mark. After all of her accomplishments, she remains a warm and approachable individual, even as she has achieved so much on the golf course.

The LPGA is affiliated with Women's Senior Golf Tour.

The Women's Senior Golf Tour is a golf tournament series for seniors organized by Jane Blalock's JBC Marketing. Although the LPGA does not own the tour, it is affiliated with them and has hosted a season-ending championship since 2006. The LPGA has also played events on the Legends Tour. LPGA organizes events for younger ladies in addition to the Legends Tour.

The LPGA Tour has partnered up with Dow in order to create a digital hub called "Celebrating Green" that will help combat climate change and promote responsible environmental behavior. The hub offers information on LPGA initiatives. It also highlights Dow's commitments to sustainability operations and climate action. LPGA and Dow have partnered to offer OnCourse(r), the sustainability software program that will be used in its tournaments.
