Katie Uhlaender is 37 years old and hails from Central Texas. She has dedicated her whole life to the sport. She is one four Team USA participants who are qualified to compete at the fifth Winter Olympics. The skeleton competition combines speed and strength. Uhlaender was a participant in five Winter Olympics. That makes her one among the few women to have won a gold medal in that event. She is the only American woman who has competed in five of the Winter Olympics' sliding events, despite being nearly thwarted by COVID.
Mazdzer is the only American man to medal in single luge
Alex Mazdzer won a silver medal in PyeongChang, which is the highest finish ever for an American man in single luge at an Olympic Games. Although Mazdzer wasn't expected to win a medal at PyeongChang this year, his performance was the best in USA Luge history. Although he was not the favorite this year he is confident that his four runs in PyeongChang will be clean. For the four years that Mazdzer has been competing, he relied on his mental side for medals.
Shiffrin is the top female slalom skier
Despite her young age and lackluster performance in the Super-G, Mikaela Shiffrin has already made a name for herself in the sport. Shiffrin claimed the top spot in the opening round against Slovakia and won her first slalom. But, she failed to reach the podium in the races against Germany Italy Norway. Still, she finished all three races and congratulated her teammates. In her Olympic debut, she became the second woman in history to compete in all six Alpine events, a feat she shared with Czech Republic's Petra Vlhova in 2018.
Since 2011, Chock and Bates have been competing together
Chock and Bates compete together since 2011. Since their meeting in 2011, they have been a winning team and have had some success. After participating in the Grand Prix Final at the World Championships 2017, they were sixth. At the U.S. Championships, Chock and Bates finished second and first, respectively. Out of their World Championships success, Chock and Bates won the U.S. Championships a total of eight times.
Moses' involvement with future athletes
Moses's involvement with American athletes in the future is explained by many factors. He studied at Pepperdine University. He also co-founded The Platinum Group to represent world-class athletes and business ventures. Moses is also a member of President's Circle, and a selector for National Academy of Sciences. He also serves as a commissioner for the President's Commission on White House Fellowships, and was elected to the executive committee of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
