After college, she jumped ship to the club scene, joining the Washington Freedom and becoming the first American player to win the Golden Boot award.

Sydney Leroux

Sydney Leroux is an American soccer player and is part of the Seattle Reign FC. Leroux can also play for Canada's national team as she played in her youth. Sydney Leroux, who was born in Canada, has a dual nationality. Her father is from the U.S. while her mother hails from Canada. She made her professional soccer debut at the age of 15 and currently plays for the Seattle Reign FC in the NWSL. She was also a player for the Boston Breakers of the NWSL in 2013, and is currently a member the Seattle Reign FC.

Her father also encouraged her to continue playing football. Putellas has been one of the most highly-regarded female soccer players in the world since that time.
