The Diamond Resorts TOC kicks off the LPGA season. John Smoltz (baseball Hall of Famer) has won the tournament in the past. The celebrity golf circuit is also a regular attendee of the event. Last year, 10 major winners competed. A Schedule of events and a Celebrity Division are other notable aspects of the tournament.
Celebrity division
53 celebrities will compete for a $500,000 prize in the Celebrity Division. The field includes Annika Sorenstam, a four-time major champion, John Smoltz, a former Atlanta Braves pitcher, and country singer/actor Cole Swindell. Sorenstam, who was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, made her first public comments during the week.

Annika Sorenstam, an Australian tennis player, is also a celebrity at the LPGA Tour. While she has played in many tournaments, including partnering her father in PNC Championships, she has never fought against an LPGA Tour professional. She will be participating in the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions Celebrity Division. Each celebrity will play their own ball using a modified Stableford format. The LPGA pros will pair them with the celebrities in a 72 hole stroke play event.
