If you've ever watched a professional golfer compete, you may have noticed a few female players in very revealing clothing. Paige Spiranac is one example. She was known to wear a small skirt on the golf course before the dress codes were enforced. Male golfers were critical of this practice, accusing the LPGA and other golfers of body-shaming women. The dress code is now no longer required.
Lexi Thompson
Alexis Noel Thompson (American professional golfer) plays on LPGA Tour. At age 12, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. At age 15, she turned pro. She has since qualified for several other major championships. Her first LPGA win was June 2016.

At twelve years of age, she was the youngest woman ever to compete in the US Women's Open. She was 16 years old when she became the youngest LPGA winner, and won her first tournament. She was 20 years old when she won her first LPGA tournament. Each day, she practices for three hours, plays 18 holes, eats lunch, and works out with a trainer. In addition to the LPGA Tour, Thompson also donates her time to charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project.
Thompson was one of most exciting players in the game in 2015, but she's had a tough year in 2021. She had a five-shot lead at the US Women's Open in 2021, but failed to capitalize on it. She has won the LGPA Japan Tour in the past and the Ladies European Tour in the present. She is currently ranked 9th on the Rolex Player Rankings. Last spring, she finished 17th in the Lotte Championship. She also missed out on a chance at winning her second major tournament at Avnet Classic LPGA.
Michelle Maguire
Leona Maguire was the first Irishwoman to win the LPGA Tour Drive On Championship in Florida. The 27 year-old finished on 18 and was three strokes behind Lexi Thompson. Maguire opened the season with five birdies. She finished the final round tied for second with Marina Alex. To claim the title, Maguire birdied the 10th and 11th holes.
While the 2020 season was generally positive for the Irishwoman with some low points in the beginning stages, there were a few negative aspects. She missed 16 LPGA Match-Play matches in May but bounced back to her best form this summer. Maguire attributed her success to a number of experiences, both good and bad, that she learned from. Positive experiences boost confidence and negative ones are reality checks.

In addition to her golf achievements, Maguire was named to the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars team. This honor goes to student-athletes who are academically and athletically outstanding. Maguire's honor roll includes serving as a captain and team MVP. Maguire also broke Lydia Ko’s record for the most weeks at top of the World Amateur rankings. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
