Some female professional golfers are known to wear very exposed clothing. Paige Spiranac, for example, was known to wear a mini skirt on the course before the dress code was enforced. Male golfers were critical of this practice, accusing the LPGA and other golfers of body-shaming women. Today, however, the dress code has been lifted.
Lexi Thompson
Alexis Noel Thompson (American professional golfer) plays on LPGA Tour. She was 12 years old when she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. She became a professional at the age of 15. She has also qualified for major championships. Her June 2016 victory in the LPGA was her first.

At twelve years of age, she was the youngest woman ever to compete in the US Women's Open. At 16 she was already the youngest LPGA winner. She had also won her first tournament. She is a world-renowned athlete and has won numerous LPGA tournaments at age 20. She practices three hours a day, plays 18 holes, has lunch and trains with a trainer. Thompson is also a volunteer for charities like the Wounded Warrior Project.
Thompson was one of most exciting players in the game in 2015, but she's had a tough year in 2021. In 2021, she held a lead of five shots at the US Women's Open but didn't capitalize. Since then, she has won the LGPA Japan Tour as well as the Ladies European Tour. She currently ranks 9th within the Rolex Player Rankings. Last spring, she tied for 17th in the Lotte Championship and the ANA Inspiration event. She also missed the chance to win her second major tournament, at Avnet LPGA Classic.
Michelle Maguire
Leona Maguire became the first Irishwoman to win on the LPGA Tour when she won the Drive On Championship in Florida. The 27-yearold finished on -18, three shots ahead of Lexi Thompson. Maguire started the season with five birdies. In the final round, she tied Marina Alex. To claim the title, Maguire birdied the 10th and 11th holes.
The 2020 season was mostly positive, though there were some lows in the early stages. She missed 16 LPGA Match-Play events in May but rebounded to be her best during the summer. Maguire attributes her success to a variety of experiences, both positive and negative, from which she has learned. Positive experiences can build confidence. Negative experiences are a reality check.

Maguire was also a member of the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars. This is an honorable award given to student athletes who have shown academic and athletic excellence. Maguire's honor roll includes serving as a captain and team MVP. Lydia Ko's record was broken by Maguire for having spent the most weeks at World Amateur number one. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
