Why is the US Men's Soccer Team Bad?

Is the US' men's soccer team a disaster? There are many causes, including a lack in talent, pay-to–play and ineffective techniques. I'll address each one in turn. Improvements are needed for the US Men's soccer team

McKennie is undoubtedly the best midfielder of the team

McKennie, a U.S. male soccer player, is one of the most outstanding midfielders. The 23-year old McKennie is a well-known name in Europe and has a unique history. He was born in Little Elm, Texas and has a Dallas skyline tattoo at his elbow. His father is an airman and he spent most of his early years in Texas before moving to Germany with FC Schalke 04 at the age of 17. He will transfer to Juventus for 2020.

Gregg Berhalter's methods haven't worked

It's easy to understand why some people have questioned whether Berhalter's tactics haven't been effective for the USMNT. Berhalter's strategy of recruiting dual-nationals such as Yunus Mukhah has not been successful. The New York City-born midfielder could have played in England, Spain, Italy or England.

Manufacture shortage

The United States national soccer team's talent pool is in serious trouble. There are talks of "golden centuries" and teams who rise and fall in international soccer. This does not necessarily mean that the United States has no talent. It simply means that we need to find more of it. This isn't as easy as it might seem. Although it might not be as simple and straightforward as hiring a celebrity, that is just the beginning.

Pay-to-play

Some have claimed that pay-to-play is the reason for the USMNT's poor performance in major tournament qualifiers and tournaments. It is possible that this model contributes to the poor performance by other soccer/football powers. For example, Iceland paid hundreds of coaches for UEFA licenses. More qualified coaches mean better quality players.

Manufacture of insufficient firepower

The USMNT is a team that has been trending upwards for 20+ years. However, it now faces serious problems. The team's recent defeat to Honduras is an unprecedented low. They are now winless in their last 14 matches. This week's performance has provoked many cathartic rants. What can the group do to make things better?
