Lindsey Horan, USWNT Midfielder

Horan played in the NWSL with the Colorado Rush before becoming an international player. She was the NWSL MVP in 2018. She has been a USWNT member since 2012, scoring 25 goals and providing 34 assists. She was born in France and played for Colorado before moving to the United States.

Lindsey Horan started playing soccer as a child. She was recruited by the Colorado Rush Youth Soccer Club to play on their U12 Nike Team. Linda Horan, her mother and assistant coach encouraged her to continue the sport. From that point, her competitive journey began. She started playing club soccer in Colorado Rush and then switched to the United States Women's National Team. She played 108 games for the USWNT, scoring 25 goals and providing assistance 34 times.

Horan's college and high school careers have taken her around the world. In 2012, she played for the Colorado Rush in the W-League, scoring two goals while taking 19 shots. Later, she signed a six-figure agreement with Paris Saint-Germain FC. Since then she has played for PSG as a forward.

Lindsey Horan is a Portland Thorns FC player who was named the 2018 NWSL MVP. The NWSL's Best XI named the midfielder after she scored 13 goals in 22 games. She also led in league touches, duels, aerial duels won and successful passes made in the opponents’ half.

Horan joined Portland Thorns FC in 2016 and has been an integral part of the team's rise towards the NWSL title. She scored against North Carolina Courage the game-winner and was recently included in the USWNT World Cup qualifying teams. She has had 56 international appearances, scoring six goals. Horan's performances on the field have led to her MVP award, which is her first.

She scored 25 goals for the USWNT and had 34 assists.

She started her career in France

Lindsey Horan was only eighteen when she decided to go pro and join Paris Saint-Germain. The shockwaves that this decision caused in the soccer world were uncontrollable. Horan, who was already a gifted player, had made a commitment to play at the University of North Carolina. But, Horan decided to stay and make a name herself in the professional soccer world.

While she was still playing for her youth club, Horan had a crush on Messi, one of the USWNT's top players. Horan was invited to join the French youth club by her coach after a family trip. Horan, her family and a brief break from college led to Horan moving to France to train with the team. Horan did not make any official appearances for the team in order to preserve her NCAA eligibility.

She will join Olympique Lyonse on loan through June 2023

USWNT's midfielder, Horan, has agreed to sign a loan deal with Olympique Lyon until June 2023. This will allow him to join the club for the 2019 season. Horan will be joining USWNT teammate Catarina Macario at the club. Both players are part of Lyon's squad since last season.

It's not surprising, given Horan’s recent European history. She was previously a Paris Saint-Germain player from 2012 to 2016. Recently, she won the Women's World Cup Lyon. She has now signed a contract extension at Thorns FC. It will allow her to stay in the USA until 2025.
