Some of the players in Sweden's roster could be trouble for the U.S.: Lina Hurtig (Kosovare Asllani), Fridolina Rolfo (Fridolina Rolfo).

The United States have yet to defeat Sweden but it was interesting to see how they scored in the opening half. Carli Lloyd (Christen Press) scored a goal each, while Anna Anvegard (Sweden) scored two goals. Both have been named to the Olympic squad. They have combined for eight goals over 19 matches.

The United States women's soccer team has started the World Cup with a 2-1 win over Sweden. The Americans played with an aggressive strategy that was centered in the Swedish end of the field. They worked hard in the middlefield and created many excellent chances, including two during the first half. But it's not over for the Americans. Morgan Brian was injured during the first half, when she took a challenge on a Swedish defender and went down. Anna-Marie Keighley, Sweden's goalkeeper was unable prevent it.

Jonathan Lekkerimaki is an NHL winger and a talented player. He is a strong skater with a wrist shot and excellent vision. Lekkerimaki is a top scorer at the World Under-18 Championship in Sweden last spring. He scored a goal in a recent match against Canada. His goal was replayed on a Jumbotron, but it was not broadcast.

Davidson, a professional player for the Chicago Red Stars was crowned World Cup champions 16 months ago. The squad's young defender, Davidson, was an important member of the US Women's National Team.

Stina Blackstenius
StinaBlackstenius scored twice in favor of Sweden in their first encounter against the U.S. Although her first goal was luck, she was also an integral part of the dominating Swedish effort. Sweden is the world champions and knocked out the Americans in the 2016 Olympics. Sweden had a 2-2 draw with the Americans in Stockholm in April but was able to thrash the Americans in Tokyo with a score of 4-0. Blackstenius's goals against world champions proved that Sweden is not to underestimate, despite all odds.
