She was named Performer of the Year by Sports Illustrated in 2017 and has been called the greatest women's basketball winner ever. She also participates in the Passion City Podcast and speaks on faith and criminal justice advocacy. The church is dedicated to radical grace and knowable truth. Moore was a player for the Georgia Metros between 2005 and 2006.
Maya Moore played for the Georgia Metros 16U Nike Travel Team in 2005 and 2006. Her team was 73-6 that season, and she won MVP honours. They won four National Championships. Morgan Toles was her junior teammate, as well as D'Andra and D'Andra Moss, who later went on to play college basketball. She has also played basketball for the University of Connecticut women's team.

Moore played for the U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball Team in 2012
Maya Moore was one of four Minnesotans who competed for the U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball Team in 2012. She was the second player selected to the team, and helped the United States win the gold medal in 2012. Six gold medals were won in eight games by the U.S. Women's Basketball team, including two in London.
Moore's WNBA career has taken a hiatus
Maya Moore, 25, has announced her decision to not return to the WNBA Court this season. Last time she played for the Minnesota Lynx was in 2018. In February, Moore announced that she would be taking some leave to pursue her ministerial dreams and to spend more time with her family. Moore also worked to free Jonathan Irons for the 16-year-old crimes he was involved in.
Jonathan Irons, Moore’s husband, was convicted of a burglary in 2007 and a shooting in 2007.
Moore met Irons in Missouri while she was visiting her godparents. She also met her great-uncle, who introduced them the rest of their family. Irons, then 16, was convicted of burglary and shooting in the house of a white male. Stanley Stotler, the homeowner recognized Irons's identity as the perpetrator. He was convicted by the jury and sent to prison.
Moore proposed to Irons the night he was released
Moore proposed to Irons after the judge overturned his conviction of aggravated assault. Irons' conviction was overturned by the judge after he mentioned problems with the case investigation. The couple is now engaged and plan to start a foundation to help wrongfully convicted individuals. Moore will be returning to basketball this spring.

Moore and Irons have a baby boy
Maya Moore just announced the birth of her first child, Jonathan Irons. The baby boy was delivered in February 2022. Following Jonathan's release from prison, they were married in 2020. It is unclear if the couple are still together. Jonathan and Maya were in prison together, where they formed a close friendship.
