In her senior year she was named Soccer America's player of the season and Pac-10 player the year. She also holds the record for Stanford Cardinal women's soccer team's leading scorer with 71 goals in 155 matches. After college, she jumped ship to the club scene, joining the Washington Freedom and becoming the first American player to win the Golden Boot award.

Julie Beth Ertz has made a name for herself in soccer as one of most well-paid female players. Colorado native, Beth Ertz played on two FIFA Women's World Cup champion teams and represented the United States in the 2016 Olympics. She has received numerous accolades for her athletic achievements. She has twice been named U.S. Soccer's Female Player of Year. Apart from being one of most well-paid female athletes worldwide, she is also involved in charitable causes such as the Ertz Family Foundation, which assists underprivileged communities in achieving their dreams through sports.

Anouk Hoogendijk
Anouk Hoogendijk is a Dutch soccer player who plays for Ajax. She was awarded the bronze medal at European Championships and is often referred to as one of soccer's most exciting female players. The 5ft 5in midfielder has represented the Netherlands in 94 matches.

Swiss footballer Lara Dickenmann has won national honors in the last few years. She began her career at the youth team and moved up to the senior team. In 2002, she was first-team All American and in 2004, first-team All Big Ten. She was also a threetime academic All-Big Ten honoree, and a fourtime Ohio State Scholar Athlete. Dickenmann was a member of the New Jersey Wildcats, and later the Jersey Sky Blue. Dickenmann joined VfL Wolfsburg, Germany's women's soccer team, after leaving Ohio State University in 2008.

Sydney Leroux
Sydney Leroux, a Canadian soccer player, is a member the Seattle Reign FC. Leroux can also play for Canada's national team as she played in her youth. Sydney Leroux is also of dual nationality. Her father was born in the U.S. and her mother is Canadian. She made her professional soccer debut when she was 15 and plays for the Seattle Reign FC (NWSL). She played in the NWSL for the Boston Breakers and is currently with the Seattle Reign FC.
Jonelle Filigno
Filigno is a soccer player who has played in many different countries. She represented Canada in two Olympics, most recently as part a senior national team. In 2012, she scored against the British team the game-winning goal, which helped the Canadians reach the semifinals, and won the bronze medal. She has won the Ballon d'Or award and the UEFA Women's Players of the Year awards. As a child, Putellas admired Andres Iniesta, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho, and her father always encouraged her to play football.
