Morgan's future success as a star athlete

Alex Morgan is one the most promising young players in the US women’s soccer league. She has scored 15 goals in 16 NWSL games this season. She will be leading the U.S. team in Mexico to the Concacaf tournament this summer. The last time the US played at this tournament was in Cancun, Mexico in 2010. Morgan helped America win the gold medal in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, even though the team lost to Mexico. She was also the winner against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics.

Rapinoe's suit against the U.S. soccer Federation

Five members from the USWNT sued the U.S. soccer league seeking equal pay and the same work. They claimed they had been unfairly treated due to their gender. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was notified. A federal judge sided in favor of the federation and dismissed most of the unpaid claims. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals heard the appeal and the women filed an opening brief.

Dunn's Olympic debut

Dunn was widely anticipated and celebrated earlier in the month in Rockville Centre. It was a symbolic ending to her World Cup absence.

Rapinoe's Third Olympics

Megan Rapinoe plays forward for the United States National Team. She was part of the first World Cup in 2009 when she returned to the USA. Rapinoe was able to send the ball back to Abby Wambach just before the game was finished in 2011. In 2012, she was part Olympic team and helped to win the bronze medal in London.
