Liz Carmouche is an American mixed martial arts fighter who is openly lesbian. She is currently Bellator Womens Flyweight World Champ and has fought in various weight divisions for Bellator. Before joining Bellator, she competed for the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the women's flyweight & bantamweight divisions.

She competes in the UFC's women’s bantamweight section.

Carmouche won the fight with an excellent takedown. From a dominant position, Carmouche launched a barrage against ground and pound. Her fight came to an abrupt halt when Mike Beltran, referee, intervened and called a halt. This is Carmouche's 4th win in the Bellator cage. Velasquez, who had been unbeaten in the past, won this fight. This win ends Velasquez’s run as the Bellator flyweight champion.

Liz Carmouche now stands at 4-0 in Bellator's cage after a spectacular victory over Juliana Velasquez, former world champion. Her victory earned her the Bellator Flyweight Championship. It was part of Bellator 278's main show and ended at 4:47 into Round Four. This was Carmouche's first win over Velasquez in professional MMA.

She was raised in Okinawa on a military base

Liz Carmouche is the daughter of an Air Force pilot. She grew up at Okinawa's military base. Her dad served in the Air Force there, and her mom remarried. There was a Christian school where she graduated in 2003. She now studies at San Diego City College and plans to become A kinesiologist.
