Allyson Felix

Allyson Felix won a gold medal at the women's 4x400m final and broke the Carl Lewis record. She became America's most decorated track and field athlete. She intends to retire from competition after the 2024 Summer Games. Felix isn't one to show emotion but she realized her performance had a significant impact on many lives.

Her career

Allyson Finch has been a media hit in the prep community. She has been featured on numerous magazines such as Sports Illustrated or USA Today. She has also attended New York and London Fashion Weeks, and is active in numerous causes. Long-distance runner was appointed to the President's Council on Fitness and is a strong advocate in support of Let's Move Active Schools.

Her medals

Allyson Felix is an American athlete in track and field. She primarily competed in the 200 meters sprint from 2003 to 2013, though she gradually switched to the 400 meters sprint later in her career. She also competed for the 100 meters, the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays.


Her Op-Ed

Allyson Felix has made it a career to be a role model for women. She has championed women and their rights on and off the field. She testified before Congress and met Vice President Kamala Harris, who rewrote the rules for the athletic footwear industry. Despite her accomplishments and the competition she is involved in, she has had the challenge of motherhood. She is an athlete-mom who has made a positive impact and wants to keep doing so.

Her daughter

Allyson Felix's daughter, Camryn, was born seven weeks early on Nov. 28, 2018. She weighed just over three pounds and eight ounces and spent about a month in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She is doing well. Since then, her husband has been advocating for better maternal health and maternity protections in athlete contract contracts.

Her struggles with maternity leave

Allyson Felix, Olympic gymnast discussed her struggles with maternity leaves in an interview with FOS during the Title IX anniversary summit. In partnership with Athleta, the nonprofit &Mother and sponsor Athleta, Allyson Felix is leading an effort to ensure child care is available at U.S. Championships. The new program allows parents to offer child care during athletes' competitions.
